PM Hamdallah Inaugurates New Engineering Building and Stresses Government’s Endeavors to Support Kadoorie University

The Palestinian Prime Minister, Dr. Rami Hamdallah affirmed the Palestinian Government’s commitment to support Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie as directed by the President of the State of Palestine, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas to provide all necessary facilities and resources of development particularly the project of the reunification of PTUK’s lands starting by the vacation of PANERA and the Ministry of Agriculture to the mergence of An-Najah’ Faculty of Agriculture with Kadoorie University.

The PM’s words came during the inauguration of the Faculty of Engineering’s new building at the University in the honorable presence of the University President, Prof Nouraddin Aburob, Tulkarm Governor, Isam Abu Baker, the Minister of Education, Dr. Sabri Sedam, the Minister of Health, Dr. Jawad Awad, the Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Yousif Edees, and official leaders in the security services, Fatah Faction and the local community.

Dr. Hamdallah touched upon the importance of technical education in Palestine which limits the rates of unemployment among the graduates and support the national economy, calling for more focus on applied, technical programs in the Palestinian universities and the creation of new developed technical centers and institutes.

For his turn, Dr. Sedam praised the Palestinian Government’s efforts particularly the decisions for the mergence and the reunification of lands which contributed highly to distinguished achievements in the community, expressing pride of Kadoorie University’s scientific status and the fast developments.

In a welcoming speech, the University President, Prof Nouraddin Aburob thanked the Prime Minister’s support and sponsorship to the University, adding that the new engineering building, which is funded by the Palestinian Government and the Arab Fund, has an area of 8600 sq. and includes comfortable lecture halls and technically developed scientific labs that keep abreast with the fast engineering technology development and acquaint the graduates with professional and competitive skills  for the labor market and local community.

The Dean of Planning, Development and Quality, Dr. Mokaram Abbas highlighted the implemented, under construction and future projects by the University introducing in minute detail information about the area, cost, and the schedule timeline and indicating that the master plan has been set on the basis of scientific studies as per the international quality standards to provide higher technical and vocational education.
