Pollution Prevention [6.3.2]
Systems, infrastructure, and policies preventing contaminated water from entering natural ecosystems or municipal networks
Pollution Prevention at PTUK focuses on minimizing contaminants in water resources from industrial, agricultural, and domestic sources. This directly supports SDG6 by protecting freshwater systems and ensuring safe water supply for communities. Activities include monitoring water quality, implementing preventive measures in labs and campus facilities, and developing best practices for wastewater discharge. Faculty and students engage in research, pilot programs, and awareness campaigns. Outputs include pollution monitoring reports, policy recommendations, workshops, and training materials. Additional activities include collaboration with local industries to reduce effluent pollution and student-led projects promoting eco-friendly chemical use.
