Sustainable Extraction

Sustainable Extraction [6.5.4]

Use of sustainable extraction and monitoring technologies for groundwater, lakes, and river sources both on- and off-campus.

Sustainable Extraction at PTUK focuses on responsible withdrawal of water from wells, aquifers, and surface sources. This supports SDG6 by preventing over-extraction, preserving aquifers, and maintaining water availability for future generations. Activities include monitoring water tables, analyzing usage patterns, and promoting water-efficient technologies. Students and faculty participate in research, field monitoring, and development of extraction guidelines. Outputs include data reports, policy recommendations, and educational campaigns. Additional activities include collaborative projects with local water authorities and pilot programs for sustainable irrigation systems.
