Interdisciplinary Research Strategy

Mission

Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie (PTUK) leads interdisciplinary research in Palestine by cultivating an inspiring environment that bridges its faculties: Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, IT & AI, Allied Medical Sciences, Applied Sciences, Business & Economics, and Arts & Educational Sciences with allied scientific disciplines.

PTUK facilitates collaboration, promotes excellence in publishing, and forges strategic partnerships with national and international institutions, all aimed at generating novel knowledge, developing innovative solutions, and contributing to Palestine's sustainable development.

Strategic Objectives
  1. Establish and develop interdisciplinary research initiatives anchored in PTUK's core scientific disciplines: Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Science & AI, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, extending to Applied Sciences and Social Sciences.
  2. Allocate sustainable internal funding for joint interdisciplinary research projects across PTUK's faculties and research centers, including the Kadoorie Agricultural Research Center (KARC).
  3. Integrate interdisciplinary methodologies into postgraduate research programs within the Faculty of Graduate Studies and faculty professional development.
  4. Form multidisciplinary research teams that leverage PTUK's research facilities including specialized laboratories, the Standards and Metrology Center, and the IT & Computing Infrastructure as platforms for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  5. Support high-quality publication in reputable international interdisciplinary and indexed journals through the Deanship of Scientific Research incentive programs.
  6. Enhance collaboration with Palestinian, Arab, and international universities through PTUK's International Relations Office and existing partnership agreements.
  7. Establish partnerships with Palestinian industrial and agricultural sectors to translate research outcomes from PTUK's faculties into practical applications.
  8. Organize specialized workshops and seminars through PTUK's Innovation and Education Technology Center to foster a culture of interdisciplinary thinking among faculty and students.
  9. Implement rigorous periodic external evaluations to ensure the quality and impact of interdisciplinary research outputs in alignment with ISR criteria.
