Administrative Support for Interdisciplinary Research

Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie fosters interdisciplinary research through comprehensive administrative services that streamline research operations, enhance academic collaboration, and stimulate scientific innovation. The Deanship of Scientific Research provides strategic leadership, while the following specialized offices and units provide operational support:

  1. Interdisciplinary Research Committee
    A specialized body responsible for formulating policies, directing strategies, evaluating the current state of research, proposing development pathways, organizing capacity-building workshops, and recommending the formation of interdisciplinary research teams aligned with ISR eligibility criteria.
  2. Deanship of Scientific Research
    Oversees the management and coordination of interdisciplinary research projects across PTUK's faculties, providing strategic alignment with international ranking criteria and national development priorities. Administers incentive awards for distinguished research and supports publication in indexed international journals.
  3. Interdisciplinary Research Funding & Support Unit
    Provides consultations on grant applications and funding strategies, supporting PTUK faculty in securing research income from national and international funding sources including Palestinian and international research agencies.
  4. International Relations Office
    Facilitates local and international research partnerships, manages collaboration agreements (MoUs), and enhances cooperation among PTUK's researchers, Palestinian institutions, and global academic partners.
  5. Scientific Publishing & Research Communication Unit
    Supports PTUK researchers in preparing and publishing interdisciplinary work in Scopus-indexed and internationally ranked journals, while managing the university's research visibility through the institutional repository and citation platforms.
  6. PTUK Research Portal & Digital Management Systems
    Integrated digital platforms (LMS, Repository, Portal) for monitoring, documenting, and analyzing research projects, tracking output metrics, and maintaining compliance with institutional research standards.
  7. Research Ethics Committee
    Ensures adherence to ethical and research standards in all interdisciplinary projects, with particular attention to human subjects research and clinical studies conducted within the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences.
  8. Innovation and Education Technology Center
    Provides workshops, training courses, and faculty development programs to build interdisciplinary research skills and foster cross-disciplinary academic collaboration across PTUK's faculties.
  9. Academic Reputation Office
    Monitors and analyses the quality and impact of interdisciplinary research through performance indicators, citation rates (FWCI), international collaboration metrics, and bibliometric analysis in support of ISR and global ranking goals.
  10. Faculty Research Committees
    Guide, organize, and coordinate interdisciplinary publishing within and beyond PTUK, ensuring integrated research efforts across all faculties including Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, IT & AI, Applied Sciences, and Allied Medical Sciences.
  11. Deanship of Planning, Development & Quality
    Provides institutional alignment and quality assurance for interdisciplinary research activities, ensuring compliance with national and international academic standards.
