Teaching Graduates

Teaching Graduates [4.2]

Measuring the number and proportion of graduates who obtained qualifications that entitle them to teach at the primary level, compared to total graduates.

Introduction:

The focus area of Teaching Graduates focuses on preparing and qualifying students to become competent educators who are capable of delivering high-quality instruction across various educational levels. At PTUK, academic programs aim to equip future teachers with strong subject-matter knowledge, practical classroom skills, ethical awareness, and a learner-centered mindset. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical foundations in pedagogy and hands-on training through teaching practice, school partnerships, and supervised field experiences. This approach allows student teachers to develop confidence, reflective teaching habits, and the ability to design effective learning environments based on student needs and community contexts.

This focus area directly contributes to SDG 4 by ensuring that the educational workforce is professionally prepared and capable of meeting diverse learning challenges. Graduates trained under this framework support national efforts to improve teaching quality, reduce gaps in learning achievement, and expand access to equitable and inclusive education. Furthermore, continuous evaluation, academic advising, and professional development initiatives ensure that teaching graduates remain connected to evolving educational standards and innovations.

By fostering strong cooperation with schools, ministries, and educational institutions, PTUK promotes partnerships that enhance practical training opportunities and contribute to school improvement initiatives. Through this comprehensive preparation model, PTUK plays a vital role in shaping future educators who are committed to lifelong learning, professional ethics, and community service.
