Open Learning Access

Open Learning Access [4.3.1]

Providing free access to educational resources for non-students, including computers, library services, lectures, and online materials.

Introduction:

The Open Learning Access focus area reflects PTUK’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities beyond enrolled students and ensuring that knowledge remains accessible to the wider community. Through digital platforms, open-access resources, public seminars, and university library services, PTUK promotes lifelong learning and inclusive access to knowledge. The University provides open access to online course materials, recorded lectures, research repositories, and academic tools that support both structured learning and independent study. This initiative empowers community members, professionals, and learners of all backgrounds to engage in continuous self-improvement and skills development.

Open learning access helps reduce educational inequality and supports SDG 4 by enabling marginalized groups—including rural communities, working adults, and students from limited-income backgrounds—to access quality educational resources. The focus area also strengthens digital literacy and promotes equitable participation in modern knowledge-based societies. PTUK’s e-learning center, public workshops, and collaborative online programs further enhance this openness, allowing learning to take place beyond time and location constraints.

By integrating digital education tools, fostering open academic networks, and encouraging collaborative learning, PTUK positions itself as a leader in inclusive and accessible education. This approach supports both community empowerment and national development goals, helping to create a more informed, skilled, and socially engaged population.
