Low-Carbon Startups

Low-Carbon Startups   [7.4.5]

Support and incubation of start-ups developing low-carbon technologies and clean-energy innovations.

The Low-Carbon Startups focuses on supporting student and researcher innovation in clean energy technologies, climate mitigation, and sustainable resource management. Universities create entrepreneurship ecosystems through incubators, innovation labs, competitions, seed funding programs, mentorship networks, and partnerships with investors. This axis supports SDG 7 by encouraging the development of accessible renewable technologies and SDG 8 through green economic growth. Student startup projects may involve solar device design, energy management software, waste-to-energy systems, electric mobility solutions, or efficiency-enhancing products. By nurturing these ideas, the university reinforces a culture of creativity, practical problem-solving, and leadership. Low-carbon entrepreneurship not only benefits the university community but also expands national innovation capacity and strengthens economic resilience.
