SDG-Focused Courses [17.4.2]
Dedicated full-degree and elective courses addressing sustainability and the SDGs.
The “SDG-Focused Courses” focus area at PTUK emphasizes offering courses specifically designed to educate students about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), their interconnections, and practical strategies for implementation. These courses provide in-depth knowledge on sustainability challenges such as climate action, clean energy, responsible consumption, water and sanitation, and social equity, enabling students to develop solutions-oriented skills applicable in local, national, and global contexts.
By integrating SDG-focused courses across multiple faculties, PTUK empowers students to critically analyze complex sustainability issues, conduct applied research, and engage in community-oriented projects. Courses are delivered through a mix of lectures, case studies, field projects, workshops, and online modules to ensure practical engagement and experiential learning.
This focus area directly advances SDG4 (Quality Education) by enhancing the relevance and inclusivity of higher education and SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by creating opportunities for collaboration with local organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and international partners. Publishing course materials, learning outcomes, and impact assessments helps PTUK share best practices with other universities and institutions worldwide, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge transfer, and capacity-building.
