Community SDG Education

Community SDG Education [17.4.3]

Outreach educational programs and activities for alumni, local communities, and displaced populations.

The “Community SDG Education” focus area at PTUK focuses on extending sustainability education and awareness beyond the university campus into local communities. PTUK engages community members, schools, NGOs, and municipal institutions to provide knowledge, skills, and practical tools that enable them to actively contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This focus area emphasizes participatory learning, capacity building, and community empowerment. Programs are designed to increase public understanding of climate change, renewable energy, water and sanitation management, sustainable agriculture, and responsible consumption practices. Community SDG education initiatives also foster civic engagement and encourage individuals to adopt sustainable behaviors in daily life, thereby promoting long-term social and environmental impact.

Through this focus area, PTUK strengthens SDG4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive lifelong learning and SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by building collaborative networks with local stakeholders, NGOs, government agencies, and international partners. By documenting and sharing activities, PTUK facilitates knowledge exchange, replicability of successful programs, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, advancing both local sustainability outcomes and broader development objectives.
