PTUK and Pal Vision Discuss Cooperation and Hold Workshop within Hirak Project

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie in cooperation with the Palestinian Vision Organization organized a workshop to discuss cooperation with the participated institutions from Tulkarem and Jerusalem cities and to plan for the events that will be arranged in the University during the next months within the framework of Promoting Change and Youth Leadership in Jerusalem “Hirak” Project.

The Psychological Specialist at PTUK, Thafer Hasouna explained the purpose of the workshop which lies in the fact that it aims at creating a cooperation space and true partnership between Tulkarem institutions and their counterparts in Jerusalem, enhancing communication between the national organizations and transferring the full image of PTUK to students living in Jerusalem and in the occupied areas.
For his part, the Hirak Project Manager, Basim Bani Shamsah introduced a brief about Pal Vision mission and history and the most significant projects it offers which fall within three main programs: Entrepreneurial seed, Identity Inscription, and Social Recourses which all aim at preserving the Jerusalem identity, keeping an eye on the Israeli incursions, enhancing entrepreneurship and societal activities in Jerusalem and the national districts especially the marginalized areas.

The Project Coordinator, Ms. Shoroq Al Nomari stated that the project will extend to three years in cooperation with Dan Church Aid DCA, which is funded by the European Union, and aims at fostering change among the Jerusalemites throughout developing societal leaders and defending their political, social and economic rights targeting 20 areas in Jerusalem region and their counterparts in the Country.
The audience also discussed possible arrangements to hold an open day hosted by PTUK to embody the life of Jerusalem and to expose the agony that the Jerusalemites experience due to the Judaization severe actions. It has also been agreed to organize a guidance day to receive 300 high school students from Jerusalem city to raise their awareness about the University academic programs and scholarships.
