The Department of Arts and the Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie, in collaboration with the Student Union Council, launched the first introductory session of a specialized workshop series on Virtual Reality VR under the theme "New Dimensions."
The session was conducted via Zoom and witnessed significant participation from students and professionals.
The event was opened by Dr. Ahmed Ammar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, who welcomed the attendees and organizers. Dr. Ammar emphasized the importance of the university’s openness to diverse expertise to enhance the educational process.
He commended the spirit of collaboration between student representatives and faculty members and underscored the necessity of integrating modern technologies and artificial intelligence into the fields of design, decor, and arts to enrich students’ professional and academic skills.
Osama Khudair, Head of the Interior Design Department, highlighted the significance of this workshop and the upcoming series, which will delve into VR techniques and 3D graphics. He noted that these technologies showcase the importance of visual outputs that define a designer's identity, enabling them to present their creativity to a global audience.
The session was delivered by architect and animation specialist Motaz Al-Hajj Mohammad, who provided an overview of the leading software and technologies used in VR and 3D graphics for design and architecture. He explained how these tools contribute to shaping the future of interior and architectural design, offering practical examples of transforming ideas into interactive, live experiences. He also outlined the topics to be covered in future sessions of the series.
At the conclusion of the event, Aya Matar, representing the Student Union Council, praised the outstanding organization and collaboration. She expressed her hope for more educational activities that enhance students' skills and expand their knowledge.
