The forum commenced with the Palestinian national anthem, followed by a short film about PTUK highlighting its rich history, national mission, and global vision.
In his remarks, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Forum Coordinator Dr. Mutamed Al-Khateeb emphasized that this initiative serves as a pan-Arab platform harnessing youth potential, providing opportunities for the exchange of scientific and creative experiences among students from across the Arab world.
Dr. Al-Khateeb noted that the forum reflects Palestine’s role in fostering Arab creativity and opens doors for PTUK students and their peers in Arab universities to expand their knowledge and build academic bridges, despite challenges and the imposed blockade.
He also stressed that the university views this forum as an investment in the intellectual capital of Arab youth and a shared vision for building the future on the foundations of science and knowledge.
PTUK President Prof. Hussein Shanak welcomed all participants and guests from across the Arab world, expressing pride that Kadoorie is hosting this important Arab event despite the difficult circumstances Palestine is facing.
Prof. Shanak affirmed that the forum embodies the university’s vision of openness to the Arab region and the establishment of knowledge-based and humanitarian bridges with institutions of higher education across the Arab world.
He additionally described the event as a message of hope and resilience, affirming that Palestine is not only a hub for learning but also an active partner in shaping the future of the Arab nation. Prof. Shanak added that the university seeks, through this forum, to empower students and offer them opportunities to be part of an ongoing Arab scientific movement that keeps pace with developments and addresses contemporary challenges.
For his part, Prof. Fawaz Al-Zgoul, Director of the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity, stressed the importance of such cooperation in enabling Arab youth to acquire new skills and engage with diverse academic experiences.
He expressed his appreciation to PTUK for hosting the forum and highlighted the university’s longstanding role in nurturing Arab minds since its establishment.
He indicated that PTUK has graduated generations of scientists and innovators who have left a remarkable mark in their fields, supported by a highly competent academic staff dedicated to preparing students to represent their university with distinction on Arab and international stages.
Prof. Al-Zgoul underlined that the forum is an opportunity to enrich the experiences of PTUK students and their Arab peers while fostering a shared vision for building a generation capable of meeting the challenges of the modern era.
Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Yahya Istaita also underscored the forum’s importance for both Palestinian and Arab youth in opening new horizons of knowledge, enhancing the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity, and deepening ties between students of Palestine, PTUK, and other Arab universities.
He affirmed that breaking the barriers imposed by the blockade through effective use of technology in this forum aligns with strategic goals for development, youth empowerment, and increased opportunities for knowledge exchange.
The forum, hosted remotely by PTUK, will continue throughout August and September, offering a series of specialized scientific courses delivered by professional and academic experts from the university. The aim is to enhance training, foster student creativity, and expand knowledge horizons for Arab students — with the hope that the next gathering will take place on the liberated soil of Palestine.
