Dr. Iter Presents Study on Students Education Identity in Crisis Times

Dr. Nuha Iter, Head of the Teacher Qualification Program at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, participated in the work of the National Preparatory Committee for the Annual Educational Conference organized by the Center for Educational Studies and Applications under the theme “What Education Do We Want: For Jerusalem, In Jerusalem, and About Jerusalem?”

The conference brought together national and Jerusalemite leaders with the aim of highlighting the challenges facing the educational process in Jerusalem and exploring ways to confront the occupation’s policies toward its schools.

The conference was inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, and Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, who both stressed that education in Jerusalem is facing a systematic assault that necessitates joint national efforts to protect and strengthen it.

Within this framework, Dr. Iter presented her research paper titled “Educational Identity of Students in Times of Crises and Wars”. In her paper, she emphasized the need to adopt educational strategies that strengthen students’ educational identity, support their self-development, and reinforce their connection to the Palestinian national project.

She also highlighted the vital role of teachers in respecting students’ experiences, fostering their academic motivation, and providing a safe and diverse classroom environment.

Additionally, she underscored the importance of community engagement and creative activities that enhance the resilience of Jerusalemite youth and deepen their national belonging.
