Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie signed a Memorandum of Understanding at its Tulkarm campus with the Economic and Social Empowerment Association TAMAYOUZ, aimed at implementing a specialized training program in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity to enhance the skills of students and youth and enable them to access sustainable income opportunities.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Hussein Shanak, President of the University, Ms. Sahar Othman, Executive Director of TAMAYOUZ Association, Prof. Moatamed Al-Khatib, Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with college deans, department directors, and staff members from the Association.

This agreement is part of the Emergency Social and Economic Response Project for Northern West Bank Communities, implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme UNDP and the Ministry of Social Development, and funded by the German Government through the KfW Development Bank. The project aims to support targeted groups by equipping them with modern technical skills that meet the evolving needs of the labor market, while enhancing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

In this context, Prof. Hussein Shanak affirmed the University’s commitment to building effective partnerships with civil society organizations and international institutions in a manner that serves students and the wider community. He emphasized that this MoU represents a qualitative step toward strengthening students’ capabilities in advanced technological fields, particularly Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, given their growing importance in both local and global labor markets.

For her part, Ms. Sahar Othman explained that TAMAYOUZ Association, through this program, will provide internationally accredited specialized training in collaboration with global training companies, as well as virtual laboratories and practical simulations, in addition to offering internationally recognized certification exams for participants. She noted that the partnership with Kadoorie constitutes a fundamental pillar in ensuring high-quality implementation of the training and the provision of an appropriate learning environment.

Both parties affirmed that this MoU reflects a shared commitment to developing youth capacities and strengthening community-based economic development, while opening new horizons for students to acquire high-demand skills in the digital economy. They also stressed the importance of continuous coordination to ensure that activities are implemented in line with approved standards.

The program focuses on hands-on training in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity through advanced technical sessions and realistic simulations, in addition to enhancing participants’ professional and job readiness to improve their competitiveness in the labor market.
