Kadoorie University and British Council Sign MoU

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, represented by the Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Saed Mallak and the British Council, represented by British Council Director to the OPT Mr. Martin Daltry signed an MoU for potential cooperation between both sides. The signing took place in the President Office at Kadoorie main campus in Tulkarem city in presence of the President Assistant for International Cooperation, Dr. Derar Eleyan, the Dean of Arts, Dr. Jaafar Abu Saa’, the Dean of Planning and Development, Dr. Saed Khayyat, the Head of Language Department, Ms. Samah Jarrad as well as the director and assistant of the English programmes in the British Council, Ms. Rana Bedwan and Ms. Razan Tamimi. Prof. Mallak introduced the guests about the university academic programs praising the British Council’s great achievements in Palestine and expressing the university’s readiness to deepen the academic relationships through workshops, HESPAL meetings especially for master and PhD programs, IELTS application and training … etc. Mr. Daltry highly signified the importance of developing the English language especially for the university graduates of different backgrounds to help them complete their higher studies and keep pace with the latest changes in the labor market throughout working through the internet which is the essence of the MoU between the two organizations. Ms. Jarrad introduced a brief about the agreement between the two organizations, explaining that it is an outcome of the previous practical courses for trainers by the British Council about using the English language in business especially through the internet. Additionally, the council’s delegates were showed around the university’s facilities and colleges by the public relations staff as well as looking closely at the Israeli incursions and restrictions placed on the university campus preventing infrastructural building and other impeded developments.
