Student Union Council

The students' council is a democratically elected body that was established to look into the welfare and engagement activities in the student community.

The council is made up of students from various programs and aims to create more integration and connectedness within the community. Council members also represent the voices of the students and work towards creating a better university experience for them.

Objectives

  • Developing students' sense of responsibility.
  • Consolidating student unity.
  • Addressing issues related to students.
  • Raising awareness among students in the scientific, cultural, national, religious, and social fields.
  • Connecting university students with higher education institutions and deepening their commitment to local community issues.
  • Practicing in student work and promoting freedom of opinion.
  • Promoting student participation in university activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop quarterly cultural, social, and sports programs and supervise their implementation in coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs.
  • Prepare the Council's draft budget, which includes estimates for the most prominent sections of income and expenditure, according to a comprehensive plan for the Council's activities, in coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs, and presenting a financial report to the General Conference at the end of its session.
  • Organizing the relationship between the students on one level and the university's administration on the other level.
