The admission criteria for the Ph.D. program in Sport Sciences are as follows:
• The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related discipline in Sport Sciences, with a minimum grade of Good from a Palestinian university or a university recognized by the Palestinian authorities.
• The applicant must possess a Master’s degree, awarded via a thesis track, with a minimum grade of Very Good or its equivalent in one of the fields related to Sport Sciences or Physical Education, from a Palestinian university or a university recognized by the Palestinian authorities.
• In cases where the thesis requirement is not met, the applicant must have published original scientific research in a peer-reviewed journal, or authored/co-authored a book or part of a book either during or after their Master’s studies and before enrolment in the doctoral program.
• The applicant must also fulfill the general admission requirements set by the Graduate Studies Faculty, which serve as the overarching framework for admission to all doctoral programs at the university.
• Successfully complete a minimum of 54 credit hours, distributed as follows:
- 18 credit hours of compulsory courses.
- 18 credit hours of elective courses (according to the chosen track).
- 18 credit hours of the doctoral dissertation.
• Publish at least two research papers derived from the doctoral dissertation in reputable, peer-reviewed scientific journals, or two research papers related to the specialization. Alternatively, the student may substitute one publication by participation in a refereed scientific conference, or by authoring/co-authoring a book or a chapter of a book prior to graduation.
• Successfully pass the comprehensive examination.
• Achieve a minimum score of 72 on the TOEFL exam (or its equivalent in other international English proficiency tests) as a prerequisite for awarding the Ph.D. degree. Alternatively, the student may take an English proficiency test administered by the university. In case of failing twice, the student must complete 4 credit hours in English language courses or equivalent training hours.
• Successfully defend and pass the doctoral dissertation oral examination.
