PTUK’s Reunification of Lands Agreement Officially Signed by Ministries of Education and Agriculture

The Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Sedam and the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Sufian Sultan have officially signed an agreement to reunite the lands of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie which will expand the University development in different fields.
Attended the signing ceremony were the Ministry of Education Attorney Dr. Basri Saleh, the Assistant Attorney for High Education Affairs Dr. Ihab qubaj, the President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie Prof Marwan Awartani along with a staff from the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Two parties agreed to transfer the building of the Agriculture Directorate to the lands of PTUK according to practical steps that have already been taken to be implemented.
The Agreement also included the basic frameworks of cooperation between PTUK and National Agriculture Research Center NARC in different fields of agricultural development including research and academic support and scientific research enhancement.
Tulkarem Agricultural Station will also be relocated to be within the new lands as specified according to the university master plan.
Dr. Sabri Sedam affirmed the strong, strategic and cooperative relationship between the two ministries, stressing the Ministry of Education’s interest in supporting the agricultural learning especially after merging the technical and vocational education with the public learning.
For his part, Dr. Sufian Sultan emphasized the cooperation between the two ministries aiming at making a qualitative leap into the future of the agricultural sector.
Prof Marwan Awartani pointed to the importance of the agreement that will lead to the development of the University’s academic and technical programs, thanking the two ministries for their great efforts in this regard.
It is worth mentioning that the two sides also agreed to establish a new agreement to include cooperation to increase the number of agricultural schools and to develop the concept of schools sustainability.
