PTUK Inaugurates First Olympic Track in Palestine

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie has inaugurated the first Olympic track and field stadium, which has been the first of its kind in Palestine, in presence of the University President Prof Marwan Awartani, Tulkarem Governor Issam Abu Baker and the Chief of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, the Major General Jebreel al-Rjoub and PATEL Group’s CEOMr. Ammar Aker.
Official representatives including Fatah Secretary in Tulkarem Hamdan Isefan and security and civil divisions attended to celebrate the inauguration and partake in the joy of having a new internationally – standardized stadium.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prof Marwan Awartani appreciated the guests’ presence at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie which has achieved state – of – art development in the last recent years including the merger of the governmental colleges in Ramallah and Al-Aroub to be the first governmental and technical university in Palestine.
Prof Awartani also commended the generous funding provided by Paltel Group to support the Olympic project being as complementary work to other projects funded by Paltel during the last five years and within the developmental master plan of PTUK in accordance with the international modern higher education standards.
He pointed to the great efforts made by Tulkarem Governor securing thecivil peace and the securityof citizenry and his continuous support to the University at different levels, being a primary pillar in the overall growth and development of PTUK.
The University President also praised the role of the Major General Jebreel al-Rjoub developing the Palestinian sport to become a resistance tool for delivering the voice of Palestine in the international forums.
Abu Baker considered the international Olympic inauguration a great achievement for Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie which constitutes a main educational hub in Tulkarem District, calling thereby for more support to the University to guarantee stability and modern education for the citizens.
For his part, Paltel Group’s CEO, Ammar Aker considered the Olympic achievement a reflection to the Palestinian people’s insistence of construction and development under the current challenges that the face the university due to the junction – point with the Israeli occupation.
He added that the project launch came in light of the great acceleration of the people's need for sport to accommodate youth in a distinctive scene, giving rise to the creation of a real and positive sporting atmosphere that guarantees the participation of Palestine in the regional and international sport competitions.
In this context, The Major General Jebreel al-Rjoub praised the geographical expansion of PTUK considering the project launch a great achievement to the high-quality administrative and academic capabilities of the University staff, calling for providing complete sport facilities to serve the community in a sporting – encouraging environment, expressing thereby their council’s readiness to adopt a sport map in PTUK which will reflect social and economic outputs.
Al – Rjoub called for the implementation of an analytical study in partnership with the other universities and specialists who enjoys a sense of professionalism to acquire social justice and spatial distribution away from partisanship.
