PTUK Celebrates its 11th University Graduation and the 83rd Class of Ancient Kadoorie

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie organized a ceremony, under the auspices of His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah, to celebrate its 11th University Graduation and the 83rd of its ancient Kadoorie under the name of “Al-Quds Class” as an entitlement to the name of the national and religious capital of Jerusalem city and to support the PalestinianJerusalemites due to the brutal targeting practices by the Israeli occupation.
The University celebrated the graduation of more than 1300 bachelor and diploma students from the faculties of Engineering and Information Technology, Science and Arts, Business and Economics, Agricultural Sciences and Technology as well as from the Palestine Technical College and the Teacher Qualification Program.
The ceremony was held with the participation of the Minister of Education Dr. Sabri Sedam, representing the event sponsor His Excellency Prime Minister, Tulkarem Governor Issam Abu Baker, the Minister of Agriculture Sufian Sultan, the Minister of Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority Thafer Milhem, the President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie Prof Marwan Awartani and other official representatives as well as the graduates’ families.
Sedam Promises PTUK Support
Dr. Sabri Sedam expressed the pride of the Ministry of Education to Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie for the development embodied in the merger of Al-Aroub and Ramallah colleges to be the university branches and being a part of the University’s Reunifications of lands process, thanking in this regard the Ministers of Agriculture and PANERA for their pioneering role that led to the success of this step.
He saw the graduation day a mark in the history of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie and Tulkarem region in general, stressing his Ministry’s continuous support to the University as it forms a hub of innovation and creativity in the Palestinian higher education system.
Accrediting New Academic Colleges and Programs
Dr. Sabri announced during his speech the accreditation of food processing bachelor program, mathematical modeling master program and agricultural profitable business master program in addition to the establishment of Talal Abu Ghazaleh College which characterizes unprecedented educational model of innovation and scientific research.
Prof Awartani: Developmental Accomplishments
The University President Prof Marwan Awartani set his mind since his 5 years of appointment to achieve a clear goal to complete the construction of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie to become the State of Palestine University in the field of science and technology and a national incubator to the technical and vocational learning.
He affirmed on the decision of the reunification of lands to provide an environmentally – friendly university campus which is a basic entitlement to the decision of the transformation of Kadoorie college into state university, praising thereby the great efforts of the Ministers of education, agricultural, PANERA and Tulkarem Governor.
Prof Awartani also reviewed the University's achievements in terms of construction including most notably the solar energy project on a capacity of 500 kW. While on the level of human resources, the University has recorded a total increase of 56% in its academic staff and a total increase of 67% in its administrative staff as well as the number of enrolled students in the university has increased by more than 6 times compared to recent years and the number of professors with the rank of Associate Professor has been recorded 5 times.
