PTUK’s New President Prof Nour Abu-Rub Assumes Office

On Sunday September 2, 2018, the signing ceremony upon the assumption of Presidency has just been conducted to consider Prof Nour Abu-Rub as the new President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie under the auspices of the Minister of Education Dr. Sabri Sedam.
The hand-over ceremony was attended by Tulkarem Governor Issam Abu Baker, the former President of PTUK Prof. Marwan Awartani, and the Assistant Attorney for High Education Affairs, Dr. Ihab Qubaj as well as the University Deans’ Council Members and the Director - General of the International and Public Relations in the Ministry of Education, Nadeem Sami.
For his part, Dr. Sedam considered the rotating presidency of PTUK constituted an honorable and civilized Palestinian culture and embodied a governed institutional team work in the university, thanking in this regard Prof Awartani for his great efforts leveraging the status of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie in the high education system.
He stressed his attendance to accredit the appointment of Prof Abu-Rub as the new president to always keep the support of the university journey towards achieving more accomplishments and to resume the university developmental plans.
Issam Abu Baker pointed out the long prestigious history of PTUK which a lot of great men and women has been leading at different stages of development including Prof Awartani who has made couple of qualitative accomplishments despite the restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation.
Prof Marwan Awartani was pleased with a new scientific and national character taking over the university presidency, expressing his readiness to provide support for the university service.
He thanked the University staff and the Minister of Education as well as Tulkarem Governor for their great support serving the university for which he felt great honor to serve and work with a special team who always has one in common vision to build a sovereign landmark for the state university.
The University President Prof Nour Abu-Rub considered his assumption of presidency after the true achievements by the former president would ease his mission to lead the university towards more development and create qualified generations able to innovate and lead in the world of business.
He affirmed his belief in the free creative thinking for every student and university staff, free and constructive criticism and innovative thinking that lead to build institutions and business leaders, giving rise to sustaining development and creating new job opportunities.
