Sixth Cultural Qabas: An Exhibition for the Students Creative and Cultural Activities

The Library Friends Club at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie in cooperation with the Students Council and the Students Affairs Deanship inaugurated Qabas Book Fair within the events of the Sixth Cultural Qabasin presence of Tulkarem Governor Isam Abu Baker, the University President Prof. Nour Abu-Rub and the Dean of Students Affair, Dr. Alaa Isa as well as a crowd of the university academic and administrative staff.
Qabas is an annual student activity organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs with the aim of enhancing the culture of reading among the university students and the local community throughout the organization of extracurricular activities and book fairs that last for one week.
Abu Baker praised the students’ outstanding cultural events in the yearly Qabas expo which magnifies the students’ recognition of the importance of reading for building up the states and shaping the future of communities.
He expressed his institution’s readiness to host students in various cultural events which will enhance their engagement in the local community.
PTUK President Prof. Nour Abu-Rub stated that the students’ extracurricular activities indicates creativity and an understanding of the need for reading, stressing the significance of this type of exhibitions which offer chances for the students to show their talents and abilities.
Additionally, the inauguration ceremony included the signing of a novel “How Many Times We May Die” for the Palestinian author “Abed Soudani”; a story tells true events about a girl called “Reta” and her suffering under the harsh conditions in Gaza Strip.
