First Palestinian University Youth Conference Concludes Recommendations

Participants of the First Palestinian University Youth Conference laid out the final conclusions, which took place at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie on October, 16 – 17, 2018 under the title "the Role of Extracurricular Activities in Enhancing Good Citizenship among Palestinian University Students.”
They recommended the need to create a wider space in the Palestinian curriculum to promote belonging and citizenship, increase budgets for extracurricular activities in universities, expand the scope and diversity of the participants, intensify the culture of volunteering among students, and organize national events that promote the national thought.
The participants also stressed the necessity to engage the youth in decision – making policies to discuss youth issues including education, national Unity, and labor sector.
The second day of the conference included multiple seminars and discussion sessions administered by seniors from the university and other participating institutions.
On the conference sideline, the participants had made a visit around Tulkarem city to see the ancient history and the famous archeological remains of the city, concluding after that an honoring ceremony for the participants.
