Our Land is Our Identity

The Sound of Yirgoul and Palestinian folklore music were played from the corner of the place while the other one is adorned with glassware decorated with engravings representing the identity, the present and the ancient past, inspired by the spirit of the place.
Pottery pieces and embroidered dresses in a Canaanite style touched the historic roots and surpassed the Judean legends and demolished by the smell of the traditional Palestinian food, and a Palestinian woman sitting with her distinctive dress in front of her stove, alltell the story of the heritage exhibition: "Our Land, Our Identity," that was organized at Palestine Technical University Kadoorie.
The exhibition was organized by COC of Fashion Design at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie in corporation with the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Advisory Council under the patronage of Jordan Commercial Bank to celebrate the Palestinian Heritage Day which coincides October 7 of every year.
The event was attended by Tulkarem Governor, Issam Abu Baker, the Prime Minister’s Wife, Ms. Rana Bostami and PTUK President, Prof. Nour Aburob as well as renowned official representatives and seniors from Tulkarem city.
“The festival aims at preserving, introducing and transferring the Palestinian Heritage to the future generations of Palestine under the deliberate targeting policies of theft and forgery by the Israeli occupation,”the COC Director, Samer Sabi said.
Tulkarem Governor delivered a speech stating that the Palestinian heritage is a source of pride to all Palestinians, and that the Zionist movement has always been attempting to substitute their occupying entity through inventing false history facts claiming their rights of land in Palestine.
Prof. Aburob stressed the importance of the Palestinian heritage and the moral values inherited from our ancestors to promote the love for land in the hearts of the Palestinian people, and to remember the music, stories, carvings and food which represents their love for life and freedom with the purpose of building their State of Palestine despite the occupation.
PTUK President also explained that the University is keen to create a generation of young educated leaders with Palestinian original morals, love of life and land who could proudly recognize their heritage and identity.
