Palestine Land and Identity Art Exhibition Promotes Communication among Artists

In Commemoration of the Fourteenth Anniversary of the Martyred Yaser Arafat and the 100th of the Balfour Declaration, Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie incubated the Art Exhibition “Palestine Land and Identity”, organized by the Students’ Council and the Students Youth Movement in cooperation of the Ministry of Culture in Tulkarem, which included works of art by Ibdaa Association – the League of the Arab Artists in Kuffer Yaseef as well as artists from Tulkarem city.
The Acting President of the University, Dr. Nafe Assaf and the Office Director of the Ministry of Culture in Tulkarem, Munateser Alkom inaugurated the exhibition in presence of the Palestinian Prime Minister’s Wife Ms. Rana Bustami as well as the University Academic and the Administrative Staff, the Students’ Union Council and the participating artists.
Dr. Assaf stressed the University keenness to commemorate and remember such important Palestinian historical occasions, through holding cultural events, to raise the students’ awareness, enhance their belonging to the Palestinian national identity, fulfill part of the social and national responsibility, and to foster communication between the different Palestinian historical places.
Alkom explained that the paintings were the outcome of an artistic workshop previously held in corporation with Ibdaa Association and artists from different parts in the West Bank and from the Palestinian citizens of Israel in the last August, aiming at enhancing communication between the artists in all of the Palestinian historical places.
“The Exhibition targeted the Palestinian youth in particular creating a space for the local community to look at the state-of-art talents embodied in the event,”he added.
