A Scientific Symposium under the Title - Safe Internet Browsing and Social Networking Sites at Kadoorie University

The Department of social studies and community development at the Deanship of Development and community service at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie held a scientific symposium under the title “Safe Internet Browsing and Social Networking Sites” in the presence of students, interested personnel and representatives of state institutions and security agencies.
The dean of development and community service- Dr. Khalid Al-Sweis stressed that organizing such activities and scientific events comes as an embodiment of the university's vision of serving the community and building a true partnership with local community institutions by highlighting the theme of electronic crimes and optimal technology use.
The Director of the Department of Studies and Community Development at the University- Rashid Al-Rameni pointed out that organizing this symposium comes within the framework of cultural and social development of awareness among the university students by focusing on important educational issues related to the Internet and network communication to widen the students’ perceptions and consciousness.
During his seminar, Dr. Daraghmeh presented a lecturer concerning the benefits of the computer and the Internet as well as providing a summary of the ethics and the mechanics of information circulation .While the electronic crimes issue was addressed by lieutenant Bilal Hanani who gave an explanation about the role of the state in fighting cyber crimes stressing the size of efforts in this direction.
