Palestine Technical University holds a Workshop on the Palestinian - German Bridge of Science and Technology Project


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie and the Palestinian Academy for Science and Technology, in collaboration with Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH organized a workshop about the German-Palestinian Bridge for Science and technology Project, in Al-Bireh - Ramallah, which aims at forming new and strengthen existing cooperation, in particular to arrange mutual meetings between faculty members of Palestinian universities interested in establishing a long-term cooperation with researchers in Jülich.
The workshop has been attended by the president assistant Dr. Derar Elayyan, The Director of the Central Institute of Engineering and Technology at Jülich Center and professor at Aachen Technical University at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Ghaleb Al Natour, coordinator of the Science Bridge project in Germany, Dr. Sybille Krummacher, Advisor at the International Bureau Ms. Susanne Ruppert-Elias, vice presidents of PTUK, deans and students.
On his speech, Dr. Elayyan gave a comprehensive overview about Kadoorie University including; its stages of development and expansion since the time it was an agricultural school until it reached the current stage to be the University of Science and Technology.
For his part, Prof. Al-Natour said that his initiative to establish the Palestinian National Center for Research launched in 2011 stems from his vision of development that meets the need of Palestine to find the infrastructure required for scientific research in the field of technology and science.
He added: Jülich Center seeks to strengthen cooperation with the Palestinian side by enabling Palestinian graduate students to prepare their own research projects at Jülich Center and then establish research groups in their universities upon their return to Palestine.
