Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie took part in the First International Palestine Forum for Scout Leaders and Guides, organized by the Palestinian Scout and Guide Leaders Association via Zoom, under the theme "Scouting: Rooting Identity, Strengthening Resilience, and Love for the Homeland."
The forum, the first of its kind in Palestine, saw extensive participation from scouting associations and organizations from Palestine and other Arab countries.
The organizing committee was chaired by Dr. Rima Daraghmeh, President of the Palestinian Scout and Guide Leaders Association and Head of the Technological Education Department at Khadoorie. Dr. Daraghmeh expressed her joy in holding the forum despite the challenging circumstances facing Palestine. The committee also included Dr. Alaa Al-Din Ayash from the Media Technology Department at the university, who served as the media coordinator and administrative member.
The event was sponsored by Major General Jibril Rajoub, President of the Palestinian Scout Association, and featured prominent figures from both Arab and international circles, including Dr. Abdullah Al-Turaiji, President of the Executive Committee of the Arab Union of Scout and Guide Leaders.
Dr. Ahmad Ammar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Kadoorie, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Scout Leaders Association and Palestinian universities in areas of leadership, innovation, and volunteer work, expressing the university’s readiness to host future forums and joint activities, and stressing the need to incorporate the values and principles of the scouting movement into educational curricula.
The forum concluded with a final statement underscoring the importance of continuing such events, which strengthen resilience and patriotism through scouting and volunteerism, while reaffirming the forum's theme.
