PTUK Engineering Clubs Launches Rebuilding Gaza Competition

In a pioneering initiative, the Civil, Architectural, and Construction Engineering Club has announced the first edition of the "Rebuilding Gaza" Competition, under the theme “Redesigning Al-Shifa’s Facade.”

The competition aims to create a new facade for Al-Shifa Hospital, a symbol of hope and resilience in the Gaza Strip, reflecting the region’s cultural and social identity while incorporating elements that commemorate the scars of war and its memories.

Organizers explained that selecting Al-Shifa Hospital as the focal point of this competition stems from its profound symbolism. The hospital is not merely a medical facility but a testament to life’s persistence and a witness to the daily struggles of Gaza’s people. Participants are encouraged to propose innovative designs that embody resilience and deliver a message of hope, affirming that rebuilding is possible despite immense challenges.

The organizers emphasized that the initiative transcends being a mere engineering challenge; it is a gesture of profound solidarity with the people of Gaza and a declaration of a brighter future.

The competition also seeks to inspire creativity and innovation among participants while fostering a sense of social responsibility to support the Palestinian cause through the arts and engineering.

Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to present their designs as part of the broader reconstruction efforts in Gaza. The redesigned facade of Al-Shifa Hospital will stand as a testament to collective action and the unyielding spirit of hope within the besieged territory.
