PTUK Signs Agreement for Phase 3 of Early Childhood Education Diploma

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and several Palestinian universities, has signed an agreement to implement the third Phase of the specialized professional diploma in Early Childhood Education.

The initiative aims at enhancing the competencies of kindergarten teachers in private educational institutions, thereby improving the quality of early childhood education.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Ammar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences.

As one of the leading partner universities in this program, PTUK will train and qualify 87 teachers from various governorates. This effort underscores the university's national commitment to advancing early childhood education in alignment with modern educational standards and the needs of the educational field.

In his remarks, University President Prof. Hussein Shanak emphasized that PTUK regards its partnership with the Ministry of Education in implementing this program as a pivotal step towards fostering a comprehensive educational philosophy that begins in the early stages of a child’s life. It empowers teachers with modern pedagogical tools to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.

He added that the university places the development of educational professionals at the core of its developmental strategy, reflecting its national mission and its role as a proactive academic institution dedicated to addressing societal issues, particularly childhood-related matters.

Minister of Education Prof. Amjad Barham highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement, stating that this initiative marks a significant step towards advancing early childhood education by developing teachers’ skills and qualifications based on the highest educational standards.

He stressed that building a strong society starts in kindergarten, and partnerships with national universities bolster this vision, fostering safe and motivating learning environments for our children.

The program also aims to train 450 teachers across various governorates this year, and it is implemented by the Ministry in collaboration with the National Institute for Educational Training and the General Directorate of General Education, supported by the Education Sector Joint Financing Basket.

Participating universities include Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie, An-Najah University, Al-Quds University, Al-Quds Open University, Hebron University, Bethlehem University, and Palestine Polytechnic University.

Following the signing ceremony, a dialogue session was held between the Minister, the Deputy Minister, university presidents, and deans of education faculties. The session focused on strengthening coordination in teacher preparation and training programs, ensuring alignment between the Ministry’s plans and the academic roles of universities in advancing education at all levels.
