Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK, represented by its President, Prof. Hussein Shanak, and the Palestinian Ministry of Labor, represented by Minister Dr. Inas Al-Attari, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU aiming at strengthening collaboration in vocational and technical training.
The agreement seeks to align educational outcomes with labor market demands and was attended by representatives from both sides.
This initiative is part of joint efforts to modernize and develop educational and training programs.
The primary goals include reducing unemployment rates among graduates and enhancing the capabilities of the Palestinian workforce through specialized programs and career guidance activities.
The MoU outlines several collaborative initiatives, including raising awareness among students and graduates about labor laws and regulations, conducting market-driven research and field studies, and developing modern, specialized training materials.
It also entails organizing awareness workshops and vocational training programs to better prepare youth for the job market.
The agreement also includes data sharing on labor market trends and in-demand specializations, as well as providing the technical and logistical support needed to implement joint activities and initiatives.
In his welcome address, Prof. Shanak commended the Minister and her delegation for their visit and provided a brief overview of the university’s academic and technical achievements. He emphasized the significance of this partnership, reaffirming PTUK’s commitment to updating its programs to align with sustainable development priorities.
Minister Dr. Inas Al-Attari praised the university’s leading role in preparing young talent and underscored the importance of collaboration with academic institutions, highlighting that such partnerships are fundamental to promoting economic and social development, and empowering Palestinian youth with the skills and knowledge required for active engagement in the labor market.
