Kadoorie Advances in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK has achieved a significant advancement by acquiring the Times Higher Education THE Impact Rankings for 2025.

This ranking, issued by the British Times Higher Education, assesses the performance of universities worldwide in their commitment to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals SDGs.

For the second consecutive year, PTUK was ranked in the 401–600 range globally out of 2,318 participating universities. This marks a remarkable improvement from the previous year, when the university was in the 601–800 category.
The progress reflects PTUK’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and the strength of its strategies in education, environment, and community impact.

Highlighting the details of this achievement, the Assistant President for Rankings, Prof. Saed Mallak, noted that PTUK ranked among the top 10% of global universities in several SDGs. It was placed in the 101–200 range worldwide for Quality Education, Clean Water and Sanitation, Reduced Inequalities, and Responsible Consumption and Production.

Additionally, the university was ranked in the 201–300 category for Affordable and Clean Energy and secured a commendable position in the Partnerships for the Goals category, ranking 601–800 globally.

Prof. Mallak emphasized that this advancement is the result of a strategic approach the university has implemented in recent years. This strategy focused on developing and activating performance documentation mechanisms to serve sustainable development goals, particularly in the areas of high-quality education, efficient resource management, and social equity.

He added that the university’s growing stature in this global ranking highlights the effectiveness of its developmental policies and the expanding scope of its institutional impact.

Kadoorie University President, Prof. Hussein Shanak, expressed his pride in this accomplishment, which reflects Kadoorie’s commitment to its academic and national mission while enhancing its presence on the international stage.

He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to improving the quality of education and deepening its engagement with societal and environmental issues in alignment with global sustainability trends.

Prof. Shanak also extended his gratitude to the university staff, particularly the Rankings Committee, for their outstanding role in achieving and maintaining these accomplishments.
