PTUK Ranks 2nd in Palestine in Arab THE Times

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK has reaffirmed its academic standing both locally and internationally by ranking second in Palestine in the Times Higher Education THE Arab Universities Rankings 2026. Regionally, it has been classified among 126-155 of the 372 Arab universities.

PTUK President, Prof. Hussain Shanak congratulated the university community for the continuous academic excellence, indicating that this achievement is an outcome of the institutional efforts that align with the strategic and developmental master plan in quality education, scientific research excellence, and learning effectiveness.

The University President further explained that PTUK being classed in international rankings is an outcome of a strong belief of the precise international evaluation for wise planning and sustainable development. He stated that “our goal is making PTUK an active academic institution to build the Palestinian youth in line with the international standards and conforming to professional and national responsibility.

The ranking, he added, serves as a tool for measuring performance, guiding policies, and ensuring sustainable excellence — for students, faculty, and the community.

Dr. Sa’ed Malak, Assistant to the President for Rankings, explained that this outcome reflects PTUK’s commitment to a clear institutional path emphasizing academic and research quality. He noted that maintaining the second place nationally — for the second year in a row — is evidence of continuous institutional effort and of implementing practical development plans across faculties and research centers.

The THE Arab Universities Rankings apply the global university ranking framework but recalibrate weights to reflect the Arab context. Achieving this position affirms PTUK’s educational and research excellence on an internationally recognized scale and crowns the university’s sustained efforts to raise higher-education quality, foster research and innovation, and strengthen its global presence.
