PTUK Receives Belgian Delegation for Future Cooperation

The President Assistant for International Cooperation, Dr. Derar Eleyan convened with young, media delegates from Belgium to introduce the latter about the University’s history, programs, international partnerships, and the resistant academic life especially under the Israeli occupation. The delegates’ visit was aimed at documenting the active of the academic, agricultural, tourist, sports and cultural challenges, faced by the university, in media films to be distributed and published in western media. Dr. Eleyan delivered a minute detail explanation about the destructive Israeli policies and discriminating practices against the Palestinian community particularly the higher education institutions banning international scientists and experts from entering the country for conducting scientific research and exchange of knowledge, in addition to restricting the Palestinian freedom of movement to invest their capacities for better future of their country. The guest discussed means of potential cooperation to create a convenient environment for international mobility through online learning, virtual classrooms, scientific groups and seminars. Additionally, they expressed readiness to show the real active of the Palestinian lives in the media and social networking sites in Europe in an attempt to change the stereotypical image and the distorted implications of the international communities about the Palestinian young people.
