Awareness Session about People with Disabilities for PTUK’s Sport Students

In cooperation with the Disabilities Union in Tulkarem city, Sport Department at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie held an awareness session for the university’s sport students in the presence of the Head of the Sport Department Mutasim Abu Alia and the Chairman of the Disabilities Union Madgyi Mar’i.
The session aimed to shed light on the actual status of the disabilities community and the challenges they face and to explore parts of their achievements in different fields particularly in sport.
Abu Alia explained that this guiding meeting came within the framework of series of events and awareness sessions so as to connect the theoretical learning with real life practice highlighting the difficulties that impede the disabilities’ ambitions from being fulfilled.
For his part, Mar’i, who delivered an awareness session, stressed the importance of the on-going partnership between the union and the university having therefore good reflections to improve the disabilities’ actual environmental conditions and develop other ways of their efficient engagement in the community.
