PTUK President Calls for the International Community to Take Urgent Action and Save Thousands of Prisoners

The President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie Prof Marwan Awartani delivered a speech, in the event of lighting the torch of freedom for the detainees of 2018 which was organized by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs, conveying a message to the international community to hold responsible and take immediate action to save the lives of thousands of detainees who are kept in the Israeli prisons.
He added that supporting the detainees and their families is a national duty that every Palestinian should consider it priority as they defended the rights of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation.
The University President also announced that PTUK and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs will join the efforts to organize a conference related to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Movement as well as hold dialogue sessions and seminars that would foster the interference of the international community to free the prisoners and children in the Israeli jails.
He also called for an online international campaign that would reach out the international community to look upon the isolation and torture practiced by Israel against the Palestinian prisoners.
