Horticulture and Agricultural Extension was introduced at the beginning of the academic year 2014-2015 to satisfy the needs of the agricultural sector for specialists in the field of tree and vegetable gardening.
The importance of agricultural extension emerges from being a science of communication that aims to educate, educate and educate farmers and help them make appropriate decisions to solve their various agricultural, environmental, and economic problems.
The Department of Horticulture and Agricultural Extension, through its intensive educational program that is systematic in a scientific way, aims to establish theoretical knowledge and support it with practical, skillful aspects.
The Horticulture and Agricultural Extension program focuses on horticultural sciences and links them to agricultural extension methods, to be the only program that addresses these topics in all local and regional universities.
The program aims to:
• Prepare agricultural engineers specialized in the fields of gardening and agricultural extension.
• Contribute to building the capacity of Palestinian farmers.
• Prepare scientific agricultural cadres with academic and research competence that can contribute effectively to the development of the agricultural sector.
• Contribute to the achievement of integration between higher education institutions and the local community with its various sectors interested in related fields.
• Government institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture.
• Non-governmental organizations such as Agricultural Relief of Agricultural Work Committees.
• Agricultural development projects.
• Private sector agricultural projects.
• Agricultural media.
