Master of Water Sciences Innovations

  • About

The regions of the Mediterranean basin including Palestine and southern Europe are among the places that face difficulties related to the quality and quantity of "water." In these regions as in the rest of the world climate change is expected to negatively affect the amount and quality of water resources. Globally regional and national studies have shown an increase in average temperature extremes and changing precipitation patterns. In addition to the pressures on-demand rates resulting the population increase in Palestine this factor will significantly reduce surface and groundwater.
Therefore these areas including the Palestinian state need professionals with experience in how to conserve freshwater in addition to creating alternative water sources and searching for Mechanisms to rationalize their consumption or reuse them with the latest technologies taking into account the effects of potential global change in the climate as graduates of this specialization are expected to contribute to strengthening decision-making mechanisms in government and private agencies in addition to enhancing water resources management plans.
Given the urgent need for new innovative tools and methods to be used in order to achieve this goal the program through its establishment in cooperation with European countries participating in the Innovation in Water Education Program funded by Erasmus entails developing new educational plans that depend on the experiences of European institutions in the field both in the field Developing these educational plans or teaching them remotely for the students of the program in a way that gives them the appropriate global skills which makes them more attractive for employment by government and private institutions related to the water sector where it is expected that the students of the program will acquire new skills in water science innovations and solve its various problems whether through cooperation and exchange Students and academics directly with partner European universities or through distance learning technologies in which international experts will participate to provide students with these necessary skills accordingly.

  • Vision

Preparing students who are specialized in new international water innovations tools and capable of solving water problems and facing climate change challenges, through utilizing the experience of partner's countries institutions related to water technologies, in a professional way that can achieve the university's mission towards its globalization and partnerships with the international academic community.

  • Mission

Providing advanced and high-quality technological information to the program's students through networking with local and European institutions with high expertise and exchanging information in water technology. Such exchange will enable the building and development of students and graduates' skills in thinking, analysis, and innovation, and providing them with advanced global expertise, which makes them at the forefront of graduates of similar disciplines, making them Competitive and attractive to be hired by the local market, in addition to their active contribution to solving the problems of the water scarcity in Palestine and surrounded region.

  • Objectives and Outcomes

The Master%27s Program in Water Science Innovations targets students who wish to work as high skilled pioneers in water technologies and the fields of advanced and modern research in its technologies. Students will be introduced to the latest technologies and innovations in water sciences methods of preventing and remediating water pollution in addition to acquiring new skills in advanced programs of water simulation and modeling. Such new technologies will provide students with scientific and accurate knowledge to produce and activate more of these technologies in cooperation with European and Arab countries with expertise in that field. For this purposes teaching research and technological experiences will be exchanged with the best European institutions in water and its technologies through giving students%27 online lectures by those experts in addition to finding cooperation and exchange mechanisms between the two Palestinian universities and European partner universities through various European exchange programs.
Due to this international exchange the program will ensure that graduates acquire practical intellectual skills or computer simulation methods and acquire the necessary technological skills to stimulate their new innovative ideas in cooperation with local and international institutions related to the water sector.
