PTUK Takes Part in Forensic Computing Workshop within Erasmus + Project

A PTUK staff team have participated in a training workshop within Erasmus + project in the University of Cagliari - Italy to design and set up educational courses in Forensic Computing program FORC in partnership with the University of Cagliari – Italy, Middlesex University – United Kingdom, Dublin City University – Ireland, Al-Quds University - Palestine, Princess Summaya University for Technology – Jordan, and University of Jordan – Jordan.
Attended the workshop were the University President Assistant Dr. Derar Eleyan, the Head of the Computer Systems Engineering Department, Dr. Yousef Daraghmi, the Head of the Applied Computing Department, Dr. Eman Daraghmi and Dr. Mahmoud Jazzar – a lecturer at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie.
The workshop, which lasted for six days of training, aimed at conducting a comprehensive review of FORC project, planning for the next activities, reviewing the compiling process of the FORC textbooks; in addition to the attendance of lectures concerned in the subject of forensic computing as well as sharing the European experience in the same field.
Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie is looking forward, through this participation, to establishing a sub-program in the field of forensic computing, setting up a well-equipped laboratory to serve the program students and enhance the educational process and acquainting the academic staff with good knowledge in the computer forensics throughout learning the mechanisms of using biometric authentication, setting up a virtual lab environment with cloud solutions, mobile forensics, biometric lab – liveness detection, and web security issues.
