PTUK Ramallah Celebrates First University Students Graduation

Under the auspices of His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah, Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie Ramallah branch organized a ceremony to celebrate its 11th University Graduation and the 62nd of the previous Ramallah Girls College under the name of “Al-Quds Class” as an entitlement to the name of the national and religious capital of Jerusalem city and to support the PalestinianJerusalemites due to the brutal targeting practices by the Israeli occupation.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Sabri Sedam congratulated the graduate students and PTUK for the distinguished achievement over the past years, announcing in this context more possible opportunities to accredit more academic programs and scholarships as well as fee waivers so that good State education could be provided for students with less privileged backgrounds.
The University President Prof Marwan Awartani said “the name taken for this graduation class “Al Quds Class” aspires the status of Jerusalem city as the eternal capital of Palestine in the hearts of every Palestinian especially after the smoldering attack by the Israeli occupation on the city.”
“Since my appointment as President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, a clear aim was set to complete the structure of PTUK to be the state university in science and technology and a national landmark for vocational and technical learning,”he added.
He pointed out that within a year, six new academic programs were accredited to PTUK including Business Administration and e-Commerce, Media Technology, Applied Computing, Accounting Information Systems, Computerized Financial and Banking Sciences as well as academic programs that meet the local and regional markets.
For his part, PTUK’s Ramallah branch expressed his pride graduating “Al Quds Class” being the first graduation of PTUK in Ramallah, adding that a new achievement has been added to the history of the college since 1952 as a state university.
He thanked the Minister of Education and the University President for the great support throughout the infrastructural development, the exchanging programs and the higher studies completion, congratulating in this context the graduate students and their families and wishing them prosperous future of work.
