A voluntary team from Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie took part in the events of earthquake simulation scenario which was organized by Tulkarem Civil Defense under the auspices of Tulkarem Governor to sustain community engagement and enhance voluntary team work among the students and the university staff.
The event included simulation of an earthquake of 6 Richter scale that occurred in the Dead Sea region which reflected effects extended to Tulkarem area caused damage to houses, traffic accidents and fires. The paramedics and civil defense team dealt with the situation with professional experience that guaranteed safety to injuries.
In this context, the Dean of the Community Service and Development, Dr. Maan Khatib pointed out that the university’s participation in such event aimed at increasing the efficiency of the voluntary team to deal with the catastrophes professionally and try to alleviate the consequences.
