Kadoorie University Wins the Distinctive Arabic Researcher Award

Kadoorie’s Dean of Research and Graduate Studies- Dr.mazen Salman won theDistinctive Arabic Researcher Award within the university’s fellowship program. The program which was funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development provides opportunities for distinguished Arab researchers for conducting scientific research at the University of California Davis in the United States.
Dr.Salman’s main focus was the study of disease resistance of different olive trees, because” understanding the causes of olive trees diseases at the level of molecular biology, would provide the possibility of disease prevention” Said Dr. Salman.
Salman also added that the olive sector is one of the most important agricultural sectors in Palestine and thus this research constitutes a qualitative addition in the area of disease prevention and farmers guidance towards using methods that would reduce losses and increase revenue.
In this context, Salman expressed his gratitude to the Arab fund which enabled him to continue his scientific research in prestigious American universities and research institutions.
