In this context, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Technology at PTUK- Dr. Tahseen Sayera explained that this workshop came within the frame of the Dutch project PADUCO which is a part of the Palestinian-Dutch Academic Cooperation in the Water Sector.
Sayera also highlighted the efforts that the university exerts to support scientific research and touched on the problem of water scarcity that Palestine is facing as a result of Israeli control of water sources and added that treatment and reuse of wastewater is one of the alternatives that can be relied upon to mitigate the water crisis.
In turn, Dr. Stein delivered a detailed presentation on the use of algae in water treatment and presented some of their experiments in Netherlands in this area.
It is worth mentioning that the project’s budget is 40 thousand euros and it will be under implementation for one year and a half.
