PCBS President Confirms Academic Programs Parallelism with Labor Market

The President of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics Mrs. Ola Awad Shakhshir has confirmed, during her visit to Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, the necessity of academic programs parallelismin the Palestinian universities and colleges with the local labor market.
The University President Prof Marwan Awartani valued theefforts made by the Bureau in the region stressing the necessity to corporate with PCBS which will give rise to serving the Palestinian public interests through different kinds of academic disciplines.
Mrs. Awad thanked the university for their corporation with the statisticians and trainees at various stages of the 2018 census expressing their full readiness to establish true and interactive partnerships in different fields of interests.
In a meeting with the students of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Mrs. Ola Awad delivered a lecture on "The Adaptation Adequacy of the Palestinian Graduates’ Disciplines with the Labor Market", conducted by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics Dr. Ahmad Shweikeh.
She also showed the percentage of labor force of both genders and the unemployment rates in the Palestinian society.
The Bureau President also talked about working in Palestine and the relative distribution of unemployed graduates discussing the structure of the Palestinian economy and land control by the Israeli occupation for more than 85% of the total area of ​​the Palestinian territories, in addition to the illegal procedures taking over the Palestinian land to construct and expand their settlements and the separation wall as well as the establishment of separation zones in the Gaza Strip.
