Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK), represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Student Council Union, in cooperation with Omnia Youth Center, held a student debate as part of the project “Your Voice, Your Future”, funded by the Central Elections Commission.
The debate aimed to promote democratic awareness and strengthen concepts of political participation among youth.
The debate was part of a series of activities designed to enhance electoral culture among university students. It provided an interactive dialogue space in which students discussed the importance of participating in the electoral process, the role of youth in driving positive change, and their contribution to strengthening the democratic path within society.
The event included a specialized segment addressing recent amendments to the electoral law and their implications for electoral campaigning.
This segment clarified the differences between electoral posters before and after the legal amendments, while emphasizing the importance of adhering to the legal standards and regulations to ensure integrity, transparency, and equal opportunities for candidates and electoral lists.
The debate witnessed strong engagement from students and staff, who raised questions and shared perspectives on the electoral process and its mechanisms.
Participants highlighted the value of such activities in enhancing their legal and political awareness and enabling them to exercise their voting rights with responsibility and informed judgment.
At the conclusion of the debate, organizers emphasized that this activity is part of ongoing efforts to engage youth, recognizing their central role in community building and in preparing a conscious generation that actively participates in decision-making, serves the public interest, and upholds democratic values.
