PhD of Teaching Methods and Approaches in Physical Education

  • About

In light of the increasing number of master's degree graduates in general, and the shortage of specialists in the field of sports science technologies in Palestine, there is a pressing need for a Ph.D. program in Sports Sciences and Technologies.

The importance of this program within the university is further emphasized by its alignment with the university’s philosophy and scientific approach in preparing academic and professional cadres capable of meeting the needs of relevant sectors and institutions, such as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, health and fitness centres, and the military sports sector.

This program aims to provide these institutions with qualified scientific personnel who contribute to addressing societal needs and advancing development in line with scientific progress. It will serve as a fundamental pillar in improving the Palestinian sports training landscape.

The program was named “Sports Sciences” in alignment with the terminology commonly used in faculties of physical education in some Arab countries, such as Tunisia and Jordan, where all specializations are grouped under this title across various fields, including training, fitness and sports health sciences, teaching, recreation, and others.

This program represents a significant opportunity to prepare researchers and scientific professionals who follow a systematic, research-based approach in addressing the needs of various related sectors—without the need to travel abroad and incur high expenses to study this specialization in its diverse tracks. This aligns with the Palestinian national plan aimed at providing unique and high-demand academic programs that meet the needs of Palestinian society.
