A team from the Curriculum Center at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education visited Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK) to learn about the outcomes and experience of the Flip-3EEE project – Flipped Practical Courses via Triple Learning Environments. The visit aimed to explore the project’s innovative approach to designing and developing courses and educational programs, as well as its practical implementation and educational and academic outcomes.
The team was welcomed by Project Director Prof. Nuha Iter, who accompanied the delegation on a field tour of the workshops at the Industrial School, together with the School Director, Eng. Asim Asrawi. The team was introduced to the school’s practical and training environment and its facilities and equipment supporting hands-on learning and vocational training, highlighting the integration of academic and practical components in the educational process.
Prof. Nuha Iter gave a presentation on the Flip-3EEE approach, the project website, and mechanisms for accessing its educational resources and outcomes. She highlighted the courses developed and redesigned based on the flipped learning approach and the three learning environments. She also introduced the Professional Diploma in Higher Education Pedagogy/Andragogy as one of the project’s key academic outcomes.
The presentation also addressed ways of utilizing the educational resources and outputs developed through the project, enabling institutions to draw on the experience and its practices in developing courses and educational programs and promoting the use of modern learning approaches in higher education.
To provide insights into the project from the perspective of faculty members involved in its implementation, the Curriculum Center team attended presentations delivered by three faculty members who participated in developing and redesigning courses under the project: Dr. Mousa Amaireh, Dr. Shereen Hijazi, and Dr. Rania Al-Khatib.
The faculty members shared their experiences in developing and redesigning courses, implementing the flipped learning approach and the three learning environments, as well as key practices adopted during the implementation phases. They also discussed the challenges they encountered and the lessons learned from implementing the project and integrating its outcomes into the educational environment.
The visit is part of efforts to strengthen the exchange of expertise and innovative educational practices and to make the outcomes of university development projects available for use in advancing education and training. It also aims to strengthen the integration of academic, vocational, and practical education and facilitate the transfer of successful experiences and practices to relevant education and training institutions.
