Under the patronage of Professor Marwan Awartani, the president of Palestine Technical University- Kadoorie, the deanship of planning and developmentorganized a workshop to discuss the development and implementation of theTEMPUS CODE plans in the field of mechanicalengineering.
The meeting was attended by staff and faculty members fromthe Mechanical Engineering department at PTUK, representatives from the faculties of engineering at An-Najah, Polytechnic, andBirzeit Universities, alongside with representativesfrom the College of Applied Science in Gaza (via Skype) and representatives from the MinistriesEducation, Higher Education and Labor.
In this occasion, Prof. Awartanireferred to Kadoorie’shistoryand its technical character and thecooperation bridges betweenPTUK and other Arab and international universities.
In this context, the Dean of Planning and Development, Dr. Khalid Shadeed discussed the key themes in the field of vehicles maintenance in both the bachelorand diploma levels.
Dr. Shadeed also referred to the project’s achievements which manifest themselves in the development of a new Diploma program for the maintenance of vehicles atKadoorie, along with the development of undergraduate curricula in mechanical engineering in both Polytechnic and Birzeit universities.
It is worth mentioning in this context that the project is funded by the European Union (TEMPUS) and represents a true partnership between the four Palestinian universities - including Kadoorie - and three European universities as well as the Ministries of Higher Education and Labor.
