The Media Technology Department at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie held a training workshop titled Television Filming Using Gimbal Stabilizers.
The workshop, conducted in collaboration with the Student Union Council and the Student Youth Movement, targeted students from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts. It was led by Dr. Alaa Ayash and Mr. Najm Al-Din Jaafar, specialists in cinema and television.
Dr. Ahmad Ammar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, emphasized the faculty’s commitment to equipping students with the skills necessary for professional preparation in the job market. He noted that the workshop represents a significant step in enhancing students' ability to utilize modern technologies in media.
This aligns with the department and faculty’s strategy to provide students with the tools they need to compete in the evolving media industry.
Mr. Atef Shaqir, Head of the Media Technology Department, highlighted that the workshop is part of the department’s efforts to familiarize students with the latest tools and techniques in filming.
It aims to develop their practical skills and improve their proficiency in using advanced filming equipment.
The workshop focused on equipping participants with both basic and advanced skills for using gimbal stabilizers. These modern devices significantly enhance video quality by reducing vibrations during mobile filming, providing viewers with a more professional visual experience.
Dr. Ayash explained that the workshop aligns with the department’s goal of preparing students with cutting-edge tools and techniques in television filming. He stressed that such initiatives improve students' practical performance and their ability to keep pace with rapid advancements in the media industry, better preparing them for the job market.
Similarly, Mr. Jaafar highlighted the practical focus of the workshop, which involved sharing real-world expertise with students and improving their ability to use this technology professionally. He expressed hope that this training would open new opportunities for students in the fields of media and television production.
